A tearful Anna Heinrich becomes the latest celebrity to quit SAS Australia: ‘I’ve pushed myself beyond my limits’

Anna Heinrich became the latest celebrity recruit to quit SAS Australia during Tuesday’s episode.

The 35-year-old Bachelor winner turned in her armband after surviving a culling by the show’s DS [directing staff].

Faced with the prospect of another gruelling challenge, which would see her submerge herself in a tub of icy water at night, Anna froze in place.

As she hugged herself, chief instructor Ant Middleton yelled at her to move, before walking over to her.

‘I think it’s my time. I just, I can’t do this anymore. I feel like I’ve given it my absolute all. I’m really proud of myself,’ Anna told Ant, 41, as she broke down in tears.

She then ripped off her armband and handed it over to him, before returning to the dormitory to pack her belongings.

Only moments before Anna quit the course, boxer Ebanie Bridges found herself culled by the show’s DS.

Before leaving camp, Anna had a candid conversation with Ant, who remarked that she must’ve been feeling ‘relieved’ it was all over.

‘I feel like I’ve literally pushed myself beyond my limits,’ she told Ant, who admitted he never expected Anna to last as long as she did on the course.

‘When we first looked at you, and we don’t judge a book by its cover, we thought, three, four days max,’ he confessed.

‘And then you just peaked like this, and all of a sudden it’s like, alright. You’ve done amazing… You go back to your daughter. What a role model she has in you.’

He added: ‘Realise how strong you are and how this [taps his head] is powerful. That’s taken you, dragged your body through something phenomenal. And you should realise that, how headstrong you are. Don’t let anyone get into your head and tell you otherwise, ’cause they’ll have me to deal with.’

SAS Australia continues Monday at 7.30pm on Channel Seven
