CHT USA held a groundbreaking ceremony earlier this month to celebrate its planned $20 million expansion at its US headquarters in Cassopolis, Michigan.
The ceremony was attended by more than 50 attendees, including representatives from local, county and state governments, neighbors and area business leaders, CHT employees, the management team and members of the press. .
“This investment will expand our global footprint, balance our supply base and allow us to establish production redundancy,” said Ken Kemerer, general manager of CHT USA. “This provides significant growth opportunities for our innovative line of sustainable products.”
The new facility will add 45,000 square feet to the Cass County site, bringing the total square footage to 120,000 and is expected to add approximately 30 new, highly skilled jobs to the community.
The ceremony was hosted by CHT USA Employee Engagement Coordinator Melanie Hunsberger. Remarks were presented by Kemerer, Cassopolis Village Superintendent Emily LaGrow, Michigan House of Representatives Steve Carra, Cass County Deputy Administrator Matthew Newton, and Market Van Buren Executive Director Zach Morris.
