Dr Disrespect Teases Partnership With Nike for New Shoes

Dr Disrespect may team up with Nike in the near future. Dr Disrespect is one of the friendliest content creators on the planet right now and has had quite the career as a mascot for a number of brands. The streamer wears a wacky outfit that’s inspired by some sort of absurd ’80s action hero, sporting a mullet, a thick mustache and a rather ridiculous pair of sunglasses and dons a wild but still charming persona. Twitch made Dr Disrespect its poster boy for a while, but the streamer was later banned for undisclosed reasons, leading to him moving to YouTube. Although he was initially dropped by some sponsors, people like Mountain Dew continued to champion the streamer and he even started his own video game studio.

That said, Dr Disrespect is teasing perhaps his biggest business venture yet. During a recent stream, Dr Disrespect answered a “call” from Nike on his flip phone. Although it was obvious that no one was actually on the other end of the phone, it seemed that Dr Disrespect was teasing something. He mentioned something about the “demand” for “gamer shoes”, saying how most gamers wear socks, but the need for shoes might arise in certain situations. The streamer eventually ended the call so he could start playing Call of Duty again.

It’s possible this is nothing more than a skit or a way to try and drive demand and get Nike’s attention, but it wouldn’t be surprising if Nike has already reached out. Nike has partnered with PlayStation on several occasions to create limited edition shoes that have been a hit with gamers and sneaker fans. While it’s unclear whether or not this will materialize, it seems likely that an announcement is imminent if something is in the works and Dr. Disrespect is already teasing it.
