The Duke of Cambridge’s children have been captured in high spirits in a photograph released to mark Father’s Day.
Taken in Jordan last autumn, Prince Louis – who recently played a starring role in the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee – is on his father’s shoulders with Prince George and Princess Charlotte either side.
All three royal children – aged eight, seven and four – have huge grins on their faces, captured against a sandy, rocky background.
The Duke of Cambridge, dressed casually in a T-shirt and shorts, looks happy and relaxed while on a family holiday.
George and his father are wearing khaki-coloured outfits, while the younger children are dressed in navy and white tops.
William and Kate also used a photograph from Jordan for their official Christmas 2021 card.
Louis’ childhood playfulness will be familiar to those who watched his antics during the recent Platinum Jubilee weekend.
He stole the hearts of the nation as he pulled all his naughtiest faces during the flypast on the first day of celebrations.
Then, on Sunday afternoon when the Jubilee Pageant was making its way up The Mall, he was on top form again – making faces at his mum and putting his hand over her mouth when she spoke to him, to the delight of those watching on television.
Mile Tindall, who is married to the Queen’s granddaughter Zara, said there were “lots of sweets” around and Louis was on a “complete sugar high”.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge later thanked the public for a “fantastic” Platinum Jubilee weekend, saying they and their family had an incredible time – “especially Louis”.
