Genshin Impact Leaks Reveal New Characters

As is typical in front of the great Genshin Impact updates, there have been a number of leaks that have made the rounds online, revealing information about a planned 3.0 update which is due out in late August. While developer miHoYo, under the global HoYoverse brand, has yet to technically announce version 3.0, it is expected to jump to that point after the release of version 2.8 in July and bring with it the new nation aligned with Dendro of Sumeru. And a whole bunch of different leaks seem to back up at least three new characters that should be coming with it.

Specifically, it looks like the Version 3.0 update will introduce the first playable characters suitable for Dendro. While every other major item has had playable characters before, Dendro does not. According to recent leaks, Genshin Impact Version 3.0 will include the five-star Tighnari, suited for Dendro and wielding a bow, as well as the four-star Collei. Additionally, four-star, electro-tuned, claymore-tuned Dori is also set to arrive in 3.0. This isn’t the first time we’ve heard of some of these playable characters, but it’s the first time we’ve seen what appears to be the official character artwork. You can check out what all three look like in the leaked art below:

More than usual, however, it is worth taking any information about possible Genshin Impact Version 3.0 leaks with a grain of salt. As GamesRadar+ notes, major leakers are extremely cautious about the spread of certain leaks. There are two possible reasons for this: they are not legitimate or they are very legitimate and from a source that could ultimately lead to some sort of legal problem. The developer has previously taken a pretty tough stance against leaking official content from betas and the like.

As stated above, Genshin ImpactThe version 2.7 update, “Hidden Dreams in the Depths”, is currently available. Genshin ImpactThe version 3.0 update hasn’t even been technically announced yet, but it is expected that it could arrive on August 24 after the release of version 2.8 in July. Genshin Impact itself is available, free, for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, and mobile devices. The video game is also set to release on Nintendo Switch, although no firm date has yet been announced. You can check out all of our previous coverage of the popular free-to-play title here.
