Kanye West has been banned from performing at the Grammy Awards, a representative for the rapper has told PEOPLE.
The 44-year-old has been prohibited from taking the stage at the highly anticipated awards show due to his “concerning online behaviour.”
According to The Blast, West’s involvement triggered public online drama, particularly with Trevor Noah — who is set to host this year’s award on April 3 — and this contributed to the decision-making process.

Earlier this week, West was banned from Instagram after using a racial slur against the TV personality.
According to TMZ, the rapper was kicked off the platform for 24 hours, with a Meta spokesperson explaining West had violated its policies on hate speech, harassment and bullying after he used a racial slur against Noah.
It all began when the talk show host addressed the ongoing drama between West, Kardashian and Davidson on his late-night program The Daily Show, saying in a heartfelt opening monologue that the rapper has become “belligerent” towards his ex.

“It’s grown into a story that seems fully tabloid, but I think … deserves a little more awareness from the general public,” Noah said. “Because it touches on something that is more sensitive and more serious than people would like to admit.”
“What she’s going through is terrifying to watch, and it shines a spotlight on what so many women go through when they choose to leave [a relationship],” he continued. “You know, people always say that phrase to women. They go, ‘Why didn’t you leave?’ … Yeah. Because a lot of women realise when they do leave, the guy will get even crazier. And when I say ‘crazy,’ I don’t mean ‘mental health crazy’.
He continued: “What we’re seeing is one of the most powerful, one of the richest women in the world, unable to get her ex to stop texting her, to stop chasing after her, to stop harassing her. Just think about that for a moment. Think about how powerful Kim Kardashian is, and she can’t get that to happen.”

Upon hearing of Noah’s concerns, West lashed out at the comedian and talk-show host on Instagram.
In a since-deleted post, the rapper even called Noah, who is from South Africa, a racial slur.
West’s comments about Noah is just one of the latest string of public taunts shared by the rapper in the last few months.
