Kate Ritchie’s X-rated comment has AGT audience in stitches

AGT audiences have naughty minds, if a hilarious moment on Sunday night’s episode was anything to go by.

The second semi-final saw eight acts perform – but only three would be going through to the Grand Final.

Ukrainian aerial artist Oleg was one of the early standouts, performing an incredible act of strength and grace that also involved him getting shirtless and dripping wet in a bath.

Alesha Dixon described the act as both “hot” and “graceful,” adding that host Ricki-Lee needed “a lie down” after the sexy performance.

But it was a comment by Kate Ritchie that really raised temperatures in the room.

“Well, that was just absolutely incredible,” she began, innocently enough.

“Ricki started talking about the water and the bath, and I was just worried about Alesha and I getting wet here in the front row.”

Suddenly there was loud snickering in the audience, followed by Alesha giving her a stunned look and David Walliams jumping out of his chair in astonishment as the crowd laughter intensified.

Realising why everyone was laughing, Ritchie slapped her hand to her mouth in embarrassment, then hid face behind a sheet of paper.

“Ah, can you elaborate, Kate?” Ricki-Lee joked from the stage, while Oleg looked sheepish.

“Disgusting!” Walliams grinned.

“Potty mouth!”

“Kate Ritchie, the nation’s sweetheart!” Alesha Dixon joked.

“I’m gobsmacked!”

Trying to regain her composure, a blushing Ritchie said, “I’m so sorry!”

“Okay, um, that was absolutely incredible,” she continued, looking shyly away from the stage where Oleg stood.

“Um .. what a wonderful performance, such strength … want to see you back in the finals!”

But Ritchie wasn’t the only one seemingly all a-flutter after Oleg’s performance.

“Um, have you got a second song, Oleg?” David Walliams gushed.

“I just could watch that all over again; it’s really fantastic what you do.”

He then added: “Obviously, you are a prime piece of man-meat,” prompting gales of laughter from the audience (and, thankfully, Oleg).

“That is without doubt.

“What you do is very graceful, very memorable, you’re very much a one-off.

“I’ve never seen an act like this before … and when I have a bath tonight, I will think of you.”

Jokes aside, Oleg had a powerful story to tell ahead of his performance.

The Spanish-based Ukrainian acrobat’s family were caught in the middle of an unfolding horror story when Russian forces invaded his home country.

Oleg said he had begged his mother to flee Ukraine, but she was reluctant to leave.

Finally, she and Oleg’s sister did escape, and now live with him in Spain, but other family members are still in Ukraine.

Oleg revealed that 10 days after his mum fled Ukraine, the place where she worked was bombed.

He said his performance was to show physical strength, but also to symbolise the mental strength of Ukrainians fighting in and living through the war.

“Everything about that performance – you’re so strong,” Shane Jacobson said, in sheer admiration.

“And I hope that people from your country, from Ukraine, can see you now and see you as a poster of strength.

“Because I think that’s what you are, my friend, I think you’re amazing.”

So amazing, in fact, that he makes it through to the Grand Final along with Perth comedian Emo Mojak and all-female NSW acrobatics group, Acromazing.
