Kylie Jenner has marked six weeks post-partum by revealing her mental and physical struggle after giving birth to Wolf.
Kylie Jenner has opened up about her post-partum struggles, and the need to stop putting pressure on new mums to bounce back physically and mentally after birth.
“I just want to say to my post-partum mums that post-partum has not been easy,” Jenner said, telling her 318 million Instagram followers on Wednesday it had actually been “very hard” for her.
“This experience for me, personally, has been a little harder than with my daughter.”
Hailing from one of the most famous families, the 24-year-old billionaire would no doubt feel the pressure of the world watching.
Jenner gave birth to her second child, Wolf Webster, February 2 this year. Her pregnancy is expected to be documented on the new reality show The Kardashians, which shows a pregnant Jenner in the trailer and promotional images.
The experience is in stark contrast to the one she had with her daughter, Stormi Webster, now 4 years old. Jenner had basically gone into hiding and her pregnancy was kept a secret, despite plenty of rumours, until she announced she had given birth in February 2018.
The makeup mogul said this time around post-partum had been difficult mentally, physically, and spiritually.
“I didn’t want to just get back to life without saying that because I think we can look on the internet and you know, for other mum’s going through it right now, it might look a lot easier for other people and like put the pressure on us. But it hasn’t been easy on me either. It’s been hard and I just wanted to say that,” she said.
Jenner recorded the video after posting a boomerang picture of her on a treadmill.
“I didn’t even think I’d make it to this workout today but I’m here and I’m feeling better, so you got this,” she said.
“It’s okay not to be okay. Once I realised that … I was putting some pressure on myself and I just keep reminding myself ‘I made a whole human, a beautiful healthy boy’ and we have to stop putting pressure to be back, not even psychically, just mentally after birth.”
Jenner shares both her children with rapper Travis Scott, who recently shared his family were on a “lifelong journey” to heal and create change after a fatal crowd crush at his Astroworld Festival in November last year left 10 people dead.
