Liverpool are ready to launch a bid to land Barcelona’s teenage sensation Gavi, according to reports in Spain.
The 17-year-old’s agent with the club expires in the summer of 2023 and he has been linked with a number of top teams over the past season.
Diario Sport have reported that Gavi’s agent Ivan de la Pena is at odds with Barcelona officials over a new contract at Camp Nou.

It is reported that as a result, Barcelona are under threat from Liverpool who are keen to sign the midfielder starlet.
A report from the same publication earlier this week said De la Pena was unhappy with club chairman Joan Laporta over comments he made suggesting Gavi representatives were dragging out contract talks and delaying a decision.
De la Pena instead disputes that Gavi has yet to receive a formal renewal proposal from the club.

Gavi, who came through the club’s famed La Masia academy, would prefer to stay at Barcelona as long as they can agree on a new contract.
Liverpool would be able to offer the player a higher salary, however, given Barcelona’s current financial situation.
Gavi broke into Barcelona’s first at the start of the season and enjoyed an excellent breakthrough campaign.

The 17-year-old has made 47 appearances in all competitions, in which he registered two goals and six assists to his name.
He also earned six caps for Luis Enrique’s Spain national team, having received a shock first call-up for their Nations League win over Italy in October.
Gavi have been linked with a number of other teams, including Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich this season.
Liverpool have also recently been linked with Monaco midfielder Aurélien Tchouameni – although the French midfielder is more likely to join Real Madrid.
