The Australian television industry will tonight celebrate the best in the business for the first Logie awards in three years.

Guests are now heading inside for the event

Our reporter on the ground Heidi Sheehan says that’s a wrap for the red carpet. Everyone is heading inside now for the event. 

But we’re far from over.

The televised show starts from 7pm on Nine, so get that microwave popcorn ready for a big night ahead.

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk is sparkling as she walks down the Logies red carpet.

Our reporter Heidi Sheehan says the vibe is absolutely buzzing. “Everyone is very happy to be back after a hiatus for the last couple of years. Most of the stars say they’re making the most of the event being on the Gold Coast.”

The cast of Neighbours has arrived

The beloved faces of Ramsay Street are walking the red carpet as a group for the last time after the show was cancelled earlier this year.

There will be a special tribute for Neighbours in this year’s show. 

Here’s April Rose, who plays Chloe Brennan, sporting a sparkly pink bodice with a long feathery dress.

Who is performing tonight?

Confirmed acts include Jimmy Barnes, who will be accompanied by his 12-piece band, and Jessica Mauboy with the debut TV performance of her new single, Automatic.

Platinum-award singer and UK pop star Calum Scott will perform new songs from his upcoming album Bridges.

Outside the ballroom there will be live performances by The Rogue Traders, Lachie Gill, Gaudion and Sofia Isella and Lionette.

Tony Armstrong is in the building and he’s feeling… ‘weird’

ABC News Breakfast presenter Tony Armstrong has arrived on the red carpet, this is his first time at the Logies and he’s up for best new talent.

Here’s what he told our reporter Heidi Sheehan:

“This is weird as, have a look at it! It’s so weird. Everyone’s lovely but it’s weird.”

Gold Logie nominees are starting to arrive

Here’s the latest from Heidi Sheehan:

A couple of the Gold Logie nominees have started rolling up to the red carpet. Hamish Blake and Zoe Foster-Blake are here.

They agree that the Gold Coast is the best spot to hold they Logies.

“Love Melbourne – born and bred Melbourne but this feels – this is a holiday,” Hamish said.

“This does feel like a holiday and it’s an award ceremony so that makes it extra fun.”

Hamish and Zoe say they went for a stroll this morning and saw whales.

Who is up for the Gold Logie?

There’s seven nominees for the Gold Logie tonight, including Tom Gleeson who won the award.

Other nominees include Masterchef’s Melissa Leong and Lego Master’s Hamish Blake.

The Logies red carpet is officially underway!

I’m Heidi Sheehan – I’m reporting for the ABC from the red carpet at the Gold Coast Convention Centre, for the first time the Logie Awards have been held since 2019.

The Silver Logie renamed in Bert Newton’s honour

The Silver Logie for most popular presenter has been renamed the Bert Newton Award to honour the Logies Hall of Fame inductee. Bert passed away last October but won four Gold Logie awards and hosted the ceremony 20 times. His wife Patti will hand out the award.

There has also been a brand new award introduced this year, that’s a Silver Logie for most popular Australian actor or actress in an international program.

Nominees include Jackie Weaver for her work in Yellowstone and Murray Bartlett for his role in The White Lotus.

Strap yourself in, it’s Logies night!

Good evening, I’m Shiloh Payne and I’ll be taking you on a journey of Aussie glitz and glam tonight as the TV WEEK Logie Awards is celebrated on the Gold Coast.

We’ll start with the red carpet this evening before the awards ceremony starts around 7.30pm.

The night will be jam packed with celebrity performances as we celebrate the most notable in Australian TV.
