Antony now signs “closed”

After numerous reports linking Manchester United with Ajax defensive duo Jurrien Timber and Lisandro Martinez, the Red Devils have stepped up their pursuit of team-mate Antony, with a deal for the Brazilian winger now described as ‘close’ to being concluded.

According to The Sun, United are in advanced negotiations with the Eredivisie champions and would agree a £40million fee for the Brazilian, with club officials traveling to Amsterdam on Monday for official talks.

Antony recorded 12 goals and 10 assists in 33 appearances last season as he played a key role for Ajax winning the Dutch title for the third time in Ten Hag’s tenure, and has been on the radar of other European clubs this summer.
