She leaves behind her husband, Succession actor Zack Robidas, and their two-year-old daughter Coda.

In her final Instagram post on May 9, Marnie expressed optimism about her cancer and making it home for Mother’s Day after hospital treatment.

“It wasn’t a guarantee that I was going to be home this Mother’s Day,” she wrote.

“I got released late Friday night but had to be sent home with an oxygen machine.”

She went on to write that it was not her “ideal” to be on an oxygen tank and she wanted to be “strong and beautiful” for her daughter.

“I want to show her how to move throughout this world with compassion, strength, vivacity, humour and joy like my Mother showed me,” she wrote alongside a picture with her mother and daughter.

“I know that me being here for her is the best gift I can give her but right now it feels like settling since she’s getting a half-life version of myself.

“My mother showed up 100 per cent all day everyday for me growing up or at least it seemed that way.

“I want to give Coda the same but I must be kind to myself and remember that nothing is permanent.”

Marnie went on to write that she thought her “life was over” when she received her breast cancer diagnosis on May 8, 2020.

“Two years later I’m still here and my chances of sticking around her better each month that goes by,” she wrote.

Tragically, it wasn’t to be.

“Here’s to remembering that nothing is permanent,” she wrote.

“To soaking up the imperfections and that the best thing you can do for your child is make them feel loved, safe and supported just like my mother did for me.

“Screw the oxygen mask, just remember how to breathe.“Sending love to all the amazing Mamas in my life.”

The actress was diagnosed only five months after her daughter Coda’s birth.

She rose to fame in the US in 2007 for her role as Allison Stewart on The Young And The Restless and reprised the role in As The World Turns until 2010, receiving a Daytime Emmy award that same year.

She then joined the cast of One Life To Live in 2013 and also appeared on Blue Bloods, Elementary and The Good Fight.

After her death, her husband posted a heartfelt message on Facebook, according to Variety.

“Please don’t say Marnie lost her battle to cancer,” he wrote.

“It’s simply not true. I watched her kick cancer’s a** everyday since diagnosis.

“She is incredible.

“We chose to attack her diagnosis with blind optimism.

“We only talked about the future and continued moving forward.

“I don’t know if this was right, but it’s all we knew how to do.”
