Matthijs de Ligt reportedly wants to leave Juventus after talks over a new contract collapsed in an explosive meeting with the club.
The Dutch defender, who joined Juve in 2019 in a deal worth around £67million, has told the Italian giants he wants to be sold, putting Chelsea and Manchester United on alert red.
His decision could spark a bidding war and will certainly attract the attention of a host of top clubs who have already shown interest in the player.

According to Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, De Ligt won’t return to the negotiating table after the heated encounter with Juve officials.
The 22-year-old is under contract with the club until 2024 and Juve are keen to extend his contract until 2026.
Corriere dello Sport report that De Ligt and his side, led by Rafaela Pimenta after Mino Raiola’s death, were unhappy with Juve’s request to insert a £98million release clause in the new OK.

De Ligt reportedly felt that figure was too high and was eyeing more in the region of £68million.
There were also disagreements over salaries. De Ligt is currently the team’s highest-paid player, earning a salary of £7m with bonuses of up to £10m.
The meeting could trigger the end of De Ligt’s stay in Italy after signing for Juve from Ajax on a five-year deal in 2019.
Should he get his wish to leave, he could reunite with Erik ten Hag at United after the two worked together at Ajax. De Ligt had also been linked with a move to Old Trafford before swapping Holland for Italy three years ago.

The Dutch centre-back has recently praised Ten Hag’s ability as a manager. “He has a lot of qualities (to succeed). We’ll have to see how he goes.
“He definitely improves the players. He wants to do everything to make his team play better.
Chelsea are in the market for defenders having lost Antonio Rudiger to Real Madrid and Andreas Christensen to Barcelona and could be looking to capitalize on De Ligt’s disastrous talks with Juventus by testing the club with a big offer.
De Ligt made 117 appearances for Juve, scoring eight goals. He also earned 37 caps for the Netherlands and is set to be included in Louis van Gaal’s World Cup squad in Qatar.
After winning the league in his first season at the club, De Ligt saw the last two Scudetti go to Inter Milan and AC Milan as Juventus struggled to match their domestic dominance of the 2010s these recent seasons.
