Airplane Emergency at Miami International Airport
A plane carrying 126 people caught fire when its landing gear collapsed on the runway at Miami International Airport, officials say.
The dramatic incident happened when a Red Air flight arrived from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Miami-Dade Department of Aviation spokesman Greg Chin said.
According to the authorities, three people were slightly injured and taken to hospital for treatment. The remaining passengers were bussed from the crash site to the terminal.
The plane was arriving from Santo Domingo around 5:30 p.m. when the incident occurred.
The aircraft appears to have come to rest near a grassy area beside the runway.
Some flights have been delayed due to the fire, airport officials said.
“I thought I was going to die”
Passengers share the horrifying experience as they recount the crash landing of their plane at Miami International Airport.
“I thought I was going to die,” Paola Garcia told 7 News. “All the windows were smashed, and someone like that broke their leg and arm,” she said, adding that she ran for the exit as soon as the plane came to a stop. and headed for the tarmac as black smoke billowed. “I started running and I jumped, and I thought it was going to explode.”

The evacuation of the plane criticized by the head of emergencies

An aircraft destroyed the radar tower in an incident
The Red Air plane collided with several objects during the incident and rolled away from the runaway into the grassy area between the runway and the taxiway, according to WSVN.
A radar tower that was in its path was swept away by the aircraft, with debris from the tower visibly wrapped around the aircraft’s right wing.
