Nico Hischier’s Swiss Team Is Bounced By Luke Hughes’ USA Team

Nico Hischier produced a sensational tournament for the Swiss team at the 2022 IIHF World Championships. He showed the offensive brilliance he brought to the New Jersey Devils in the second half of the 2021-22 season. It looks like he’s ready to take a big step.

We always knew Hischeir was a complete NHL player, but he had other gear to attack offensively. He has shown that he has improved over the past few months. The sky is the limit for this kid.

Hischier and his club from the top-seeded Swiss team faced off as heavy favorites against the fourth-seeded American team. They were beaten by a final score of 3-0 and are out of the tournament. It seemed to be very difficult for the New Jersey Devils captain after the game was over.

Hischier was named one of the three best players in the Swiss team, which came as no surprise due to his five goals and three assists for eight points in the eight games played. Despite the result, he should be proud of the quality of his game here.

Nico Hischier and the Swiss team are excluded from the IIHF World Championship tournament.

Now the Swiss are out and a very pesky American team moves on. New Jersey is on this team and Luke Hughes is one of their best defensemen. He got an assist from a goal scored by Ben Meyers which helped send the Swiss away.

Jonas Siegenthaler also played in the game as a member of the Swiss team. These three guys hope to be top players for the Devils for a very long time. They all play in this tournament for a reason. Jon Gillies is on the USA team but he hasn’t dressed.

Team USA will now play in the semi-finals against Finland who will have the home court advantage in this one. It’s going to be very interesting to see who comes out on top because the first seed is gone. Switzerland looked unbeatable after handling Canada in the first part of the tournament, but now it’s over.

It was a great experience for Hischier, however. He was able to wear the C on his chest and dominate the game in every way. It’s been hoping that he will bring the New Jersey Devils for a long time. It will be so interesting and fun to see how much he can improve.
