‘Payday 3’ gets Steam page as developer lists new game details

Payday 3 has an official Steam page, and according to it, the game is set for a “new dawn of crime” in 2023.

Developers Overkill Software and Starbreeze Studio praised a brave new world for the third title in the series in a new teaser video on the game’s Steam page. The short clip features fireworks set off above a horizon of New York under the gaze of four dark silhouettes.

The video ends with the game’s logo being revealed, as well as being added to the Steam wishlist. The official page of Payday 3 on the gaming platform gives little new information about Payday 3 except for a general release date of 2023, a synopsis of the game, and a content disclaimer. Although Overkill claims “this is the year of Payday 3“Now we are in 2023.

The game’s synopsis reads:PAYDAY 3 is the long-awaited sequel to one of the most popular co-op shooters of all time. Ever since its release, PAYDAY players have been relishing in the thrill of a perfectly planned and executed heist. That’s what makes PAYDAY a co-operative, high-octane FPS experience like no other.

“Come out of retirement and step back into the life of crime as the Payday Gang, the envy of their peers and the nightmare of law enforcement wherever they go. Several years after the end of the crew’s reign of terror over Washington D.C., they reunite once again to deal with the threat that brought them out of early retirement.

The synopsis would seem to indicate that the four original members of the Payday Gang (Dallas, Chains, Wolf and Hoxton) will be back after Hoxton was briefly replaced by his brother Houston in Payday 2.

Starbreeze added: “In the meantime, the world of Payday has moved into the digital age, with software giants, cryptocurrencies, mass surveillance and the Dark Web all playing a part in new gadgets, challenges and gang opportunities.”

Payday 3 is set to release in 2023 on Steam, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X, and Series S.
