Sony has now officially unveiled the new range of PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 games that will be coming to PlayStation Plus for the month of July 2022. Over the past few days a new leak has emerged which has given us an idea of the titles that will be landing on PS More in the coming month. Now, thanks to Sony’s official announcement, we know that this leak was very accurate.
Starting next week, July 5, 2022, Sony will be adding three new games to PlayStation Plus which will be downloadable until August 2. July’s PS Plus slate is headlined by Crash Bandicoot 4: About time, which will be available natively for PS5 and PS4. The fourth mainline Crash Bandicoot game is still less than two years old, which means its addition to PS Plus is pretty remarkable. Additionally, Crash himself was previously a mascot for PlayStation back when the PS1 premiered, as the character was first created by Naughty Dog. As such, seeing Crash and PlayStation cross paths again in this way just feels right.
Other than Crash Bandicoot 4PS Plus subscribers will also be able to snag Arcadegeddon on PS5 and PS4. This title, developed by Illfonic, is a cooperative multiplayer shooter with an incredibly dynamic art style. Lately, The Dark Pictures: The Man from Medan will complete the July 2022 lineup and will be available on PS4. Medan Man is the first installment in Supermassive Games’ The Dark Pictures anthology and was later followed by little hope and Ash house. The fourth entry in the franchise, The devil in meis currently set to release later in 2022.
Overall, the July 2022 PlayStation Plus games are pretty solid. If there is a downside, it would be that Medan Man is already playable via PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium, which means some subscribers are technically doubled. Still, for those who are just a PS Plus Essential subscriber, this is a spin that should be widely welcomed.
