Reese Witherspoon has reportedly added to her property portfolio after splashing out a pretty sum for an estate in her hometown.
The Oscar winner and her talent agent husband Jim Toth paid $26 million (US$18 million) for a property in Nashville, Tennessee, Dirt reports.
Last year, Forbes named Witherspoon the world’s richest actress with an estimated net worth of $590 million ($400 million).

The estate is set on almost two hectares of land and includes a 1393-square-metre main house.
The property reportedly also includes a full-size tennis court, a swimming pool and a separate pool house.
The Dirt notes the previous owners B. Michael Shivers and his wife Margaret build the house in 2020 after buying the land in 2017 for almost $4 million (US$2.7 million).
The estate is not the only property purchase the Hello Sunshine founder has made this year.
The Big Little Lies star reportedly also spent $8.6 million (US$5 million) on a ranch home in Los Angeles’ Brentwood neighbourhood.
In March the producer sold her Brentwood estate for $30.5 million (US$21.5 million).

The property was never publicly listed so no photos are available.
However, Dirt quotes tax records that show the home has four bedrooms and three bathrooms and was designed by famed American architect, Cliff May.
May is known for developing the California ranch home, more commonly known as the ‘dream home’.
He was also one of the architects involved in the mid-century modern design movement.

The media outlet reports Witherspoon also picked up an historic building in downtown Nashville for $6.1 million (US$4.2 million).
She also reportedly bought a small family home in the Nashville suburb of Franklin for $985,000 (US$672,000).
The properties join Witherspoon’s existing holdings of a mansion and two family homes in Nashville and a holiday property in an exclusive community in the Bahamas.
