Suspect arrested after three people stabbed on Rail Runner Train

Albuquerque police have made an arrest, after a stabbing incident that occurred on a Rail Runner Transit train Saturday afternoon. Thirty-two year old Luis Sanchez is in custody. A Rail Runner spokesperson says about 1oo passengers were aboard the train, when the incident took place. The train had left the downtown station around 1:20 pm, heading north when Sanchez began to make other riders nervous, because of his behavior. The train made a stop at the Montano Transit Station. A security guard attempted to escort Sanchez off the train. That’s when he allegedly stabilized the guard, along with two female passengers. Sanchez left the station and ran south along the train tracks. APD officers apprehended him a short time later. An APD spokesperson says two of the victims were taken to nearby a nearby hospital, while family members drove the third victim to the hospital. One of the victims is listed in critical condition.
