Filmmaker Quentin Tarantino is reportedly in early talks to direct one or two episodes of the upcoming “Justified” revival titled “Justified: City Primeval” for FX.

The series sees Timothy Olyphant reprising his iconic role of U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens which he played across six seasons of the highly acclaimed and well-rated contemporary drama which won multiple awards from 2009-2015.

The new season picks up eight years later with Givens now based in Miami, balancing life as a marshal and part-time father of a fourteen-year-old girl.

A chance encounter on a Florida highway sends him to Detroit, where he crosses paths with violent sociopath Clement Mansell (aka The Oklahoma Wildman) who previously slipped through the fingers of Detroit’s finest.

Olyphant and Tarantino recently worked together on the latter’s most recent film “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”. In addition, both “Justified” and Tarantino’s “Jackie Brown” are adaptations of works by Elmore Leonard with the revival also set adapt Leonard’s 1980 novel “City Primeval” – just substituting in the Givens character for the lead.

Olyphant is also executive producing alongside showrunners and writers Dave Andron and Michael Dinner and original series creator Graham Yost. Tarantino has selectively directed episodes of series in the past including “ER” and “CSI”.
